Now THAT was Atlantis!
Sure, there are a few bits here and there that I could be nit-picky about, but I won't. It's not worth it. 95% of the episode was pure Stargate and the rest, that I have a few problems with, isn't worth focusing on.
I loved the symmetry that the writers added into the episode. Especially when it comes to Carson. He was there in the very beginning and he was there in the end. He was in a chair in the beginning, he was in the chair at the end. There were other things, but that just happens to be my favorite part.
I also see now where "Vegas" fit in. It's pretty much what I figured it was. Not that it was hard to see where it was going. Even with that, I'm still not sure about that particular episode, but I appreciate it now for the way it fits with the end of the show. I'll have to go back and watch them together before I officially change my view (a little) on "Vegas."
Anyway, that wasn't the point here. I'm sad to see the series go, but I love the way it went out. Great episode!
Cheers!

So tonight's the night, huh?
I'm not really sure how to feel. I'm excited to see how "Enemy At the Gate" turns out, but part of me doesn't want to see it at all. That part of me doesn't want to have to admit that Atlantis is over. I know nothing about what's coming up in the episode and I think that's making a lot of the difference for me. If I had any sort of idea how things were going to end it might make me feel differently about the show tonight. As of now I have no idea and my feeling is really that I just don't want it to end. Even with all the crap that's been going on in the past couple of seasons, I think that when it comes down to it I'm just a completely devoted Stargate fan and am really sad to see another series being tucked away.
Oh well, I don't want to spend to much time speculating on the whole thing. We shall see won't we?
Meanwhile, there's a lot happening elsewhere in the media world, which means a lot to look forward to and a lot to talk about. It looks like it's definitely going to be a great year!
Cheers!

I've been loving the marathons of Atlantis on Sci Fi. They're kinda sad because it means the end of a great show is so close, but when I watch the older episodes it reminds me why I fell in love with the show in the first place.
It's odd, I watched "Irresistible" yesterday and I found myself really enjoying the episode. When I watched "Irresistible" in first run, I didn't think I'd ever really like the episode, but it's actually growing on me. The more I watch the episode the more I like it. Who knew?
I absolutely love Carson in "Irresistible." I guess I'm a little bias since I adore PM, but he's really great in that episode. Plus it provides some great screen caps for a little bit of art! hehe.
Anyway, there really was no point to this post except to say that I love the older Atlantis episodes. Oh, and even though it means the end of the show I'm totally loving the marathons!
Cheers!

Scrubs is back tonight! Woo hoo! I've been looking forward to this for a very long time. The commercials look pretty great too. Hopefully everything pans out and I can give the show glowing reviews after it's debut on ABC. Here's to great comedy!
Actually, tonight should be a pretty good night for TV: Scrubs, The Mentalist and Law&Order: SVU.
Other than that I don't think that there's too much else I have to say (strange, indeed). I've been thinking a lot about "Vegas," Atlantis and how the show is going to come to a close. I didn't really like "Vegas" but I have to admit that I can definitely see where it could lead and tie into a pretty interesting season/series finale. I'm excited to see where it goes, but I'm also sad to see Atlantis go. I may not have enjoyed the direction it's taken in the past little while but I'm going to miss my Friday night fix.
I'm not exactly holding my breath but I really hope that SGU will fill in my need for Stargate fix.
Anyway, only time will tell.
I hope anyone reading this is having a fantastic day!
Cheers!

Just for fun, and maybe to get some conversations started, I thought I'd post up my television week in review. It's just going to be my thoughts on the shows I watched this past week.
I was going to post this on Sunday but didn't get the chance. So, I'm adding reviews of Prison Break & House from this week since I've seen both of those shows' new episodes. :)
Anyway, if you're reading this humble little list of reviews and happen to like/dislike the shows I've written about and/or you disagree/agree with my assessment, I'd more than love to hear from you! So feel free to leave as many comments as you'd like. :)
CAUTION: Beware of Spoilers for the latest episodes of Prison Break, Corner Gas, House, Law & Order: SVU, Criminal Minds, Private Practice, Bionic Woman, Grey's Anatomy, Numb3rs, and Stargate: Atlantis
Cheers!

Numb3rs and Stargate and House, oh my!
I'm so excited that the fall television premiere week is almost upon us! Though it did start a little early with Prison Break (which I thought was great!). I can't decide what show/shows I'm more excited for, Corner Gas & Prison Break on Monday, House on Tuesday, Private Practice & Criminal Minds on Wednesday, Grey's Anatomy on Thrusday or Numb3rs & Stargate: Atlantis on Friday! There is so much good television to tune into this year. It's awesome!
Then, on top of that, there's a lot of great television that I've never had the chance to get into like I've wanted to. Heroes, Smallville & Lost topping that particular list. I was hoping to get caught up this summer and then never had the chance. Hopefully I'll be able to pick up on them sooner rather than later.
And of course, can't forget about some of the new programs that are coming out. Bionic Woman, for instance, starting on NBC on Wednesday looks like it might be pretty good. But when I look at Wednesday night television it's pretty booked up, and it's all on at 9. I couldn't get lucky and have them on at different times! Where's TiVo (or PVR) and time shifting when you need it?
Private Practice is one of the new shows that I've definitely decided I'm going to give a chance to and that I'm totally excited about. Addison was/is my favourite of the Grey's characters (followed closely by George and Callie). So, I'm totally going to be routing for Kate Walsh and her show to give us big things. Plus, the cast for the show looks amazing. I'm excited to see Paul Adelstein in a role completely different from the one he had in Prison Break. It should be good!
I don't want to forget about Pushing Daisies, either. I haven't heard a lot about the show, but from what I have seen it looks like it might be worth tuning into just to give it a try. *shrugs* I don't know.
Then, on top of all of that, there are the shows that don't start until later into the season: The Amazing Race & 24, in particular.
So much television, so little time!

I'm in a really odd mood tonight, it sucks. So, I'm not really in the mood for a quote tonight but I want to keep up with posting. In this case I thought it might be fun to cheer myself up a bit and post up a quote (or two) from SGA. There are so many of great quotes from the show, so it's been kind of hard to I think of what to post. For tonight though I'm going to stick with one episode.
From the episode Runner ....
McKay: ... My God - last week we flew dangerously close to the corona of a sun! As it is, I may have to forego reproducing.
Lorne: Yeah, that's funny - I was just thinkin' that might be wise
(hehe ... I love McKay/Lorne!!)
Sheppard: ... It smells like I'm on vacation
McKay: Mmm, could it be the simulated tropical aroma of cocoa butter?
Sheppard: Strong enough for anyone within five miles to smell you.
McKay: Like they haven't been tipped off by the Aqua Velva?
Yay! It worked, I do feel a bit better. Rock on Stargate: Atlantis!!
And a sneak attack from from Poisoning The Well ...
Beckett: Converting a human body into energy and sending it millions of light years through a wormhole - bloody insanity.
Other favourites too add to the collection anyone?
