I wish I could write fanfic. Typically, I love writing stories but there is something about using other people's characters that makes things a lot more difficult for me. *shrugs* I'm not really one hundred percent sure I know what it is, but I think it comes from feeling that I'm not doing the characters justice. Like right now I'm writing, that is, I'm trying to write, a kind of alt-universe Ronon/Teyla ship piece and I'm having a lot of trouble because I'm not sure that I've captured the characters correctly. I'm sure that there is a lot of room for interpretation, but even so, it's a long and tedious process for me because I end up getting frustrated rather easily.

Anyway, the reason I'm wishing I was better with fanfic is because I can't help but thinking about some great cross show pairings.

To my way of thinking there is a lot of good television on right now, and as such a bundle of stellar characters.  So I have this idea for a fanfic where you'd throw two or three of those characters in a room with their lives in peril and just run with it. Or something to that affect anyway. A desert island, on a sinking ship, in an airplane that's going down, any perilous situation would work really.

Rodney and House would be the first pairing I'd like to attempt. I think they'd totally clash, but they'd end up having a great amount of respect for each other. Even if they never admitted it to each other. It could definitely be interesting.

Actually, I'd like to see a cross over fic with the title "House Goes to Atlantis."
