Chuck is coming back January 10! :)

Ok, I think exactly 0 2 people on my flist watch this show (yay!), but this is one of my very favorite fun happy shows. It was only renewed for 13 episodes, and was supposed to come back after the Winter Olympics, but NBC has added another 6 episode order to that 13 episodes, and is now bringing it back in January. *dances happily*

Maureen's article includes a 3rd season preview clip, along with some messages from Zachary Levi, who seems to be a spectacularly nice guy from everything I can tell. :) And hey, if you guys want to try out the show, check out the show page at Hulu.com. They have the pilot episode and the last five episodes from last season. I would especially recommend Chuck vs The Ring, which was last season's finale. That was an amazing episode - in fact I want to go rewatch it right now. I did rewatch it - LOL - loved that episode so much. :D

I totally love Moonlight, and re-watching it brought a sudden bought of me squealing in remembered shock "ELIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!?!?!?! YAAAAAY LOOK IT'S ELI!!" Ahh I had briefly forgotten that my first encounter with David Blue was in one of my favourite shows, sadly short lived, and sadly he seems to have just copied and pasted his character straight into Stargate Universe.

There was even a geeky Star Wars reference. Not about Hoth, but he did wish to be called Lando Calrissian. But do we care that Eli was once a vampire named Logan?

And why won't the plot bunnies JUST GO AWAY!!!!!!!! GO AWAY!!!!

That aside, Moonlight is just wonderful. A 16-episode vampire romance with a really, really hot Aussie. And it progresses unusually, defying what you expect it to do by going another route. Ok, the Coraline thing made little sense, but their take on the French revolution was AWESOME. Mick/Beth <3 <3 even my mum squeed at the end. ^_^

Also, Claudia Black. Yay.

It is far too hot to go to sleep.

if I start rambling loudly about Mick St. John, don't worry. If you can actually hear it in your respective locale, do worry. I blame the heat. It's past midnight and it's so sticky.

IT'S SO HOT AND I CAN'T SLEEP. And Alex O'Loughlin pic-trawling on google image search is probably not helping!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!

MOONLIGHT MOONLIGHT MICK!

WHY did they cancel it? =(

NPH tweets too much. It's clogging up my twitter page.

I have written 1000 words of my monster 3000 word essay! I'm so proud of myself! :D :D It's not due until Friday 5pm! Dudes! I know this may sound stupid, but me managing to write this much NOT the night before, or the 4am before it's due it's FANTASTIC. I'm so happy. And I think I have heaps left to write. :D :D

On Friday, after handing it in (preferably before midday) I will then just focus on ENJOYING MY MASSIVE HOLIDAYS. Oh, and working. But working is fine. $$$$$$. The best thing is not having to assign time to use my brain for essays and stuff.

I will also write ficficfic. On my fic list for the summer holidays:

Not Another Chair Story
Untitled McWeir New Year fic
maaaaaybe The Coin Wash Menace - this depends if I can rewrite the first scenes. It's dragging too much.
The Cat, The Wizard and McGinty's - working title for Dresden Files/Early Edition x-over fic. Come on, tell me that Harry Dresden and Gary Hobson haven't run into each other at least once? Srsly.

In other news, I think I just got my brother's girlfriend addicted to Moonlight. Oops. Well at least I know what to get her for Christmas!

... Mick St John so damn hot. And Mick, he does not sparkle. He smoulders.

... I should go to bed if I'm making dodgy jokes like that.

I think I decided to marathon Moonlight because of two things. I just finished watching The Dresden Files. I need me my paranormal PI, ok? SECONDLY, I keep seeing Mick's apartment every week. Every damn week. Has someone told Mick that Richard Castle stole his apartment?

It's very distracting.

Damn set recycling.

Really, really.

The Dresden Files/Castle x-over - I'm in heaven. Fanfiction = YAY.

I pre-ordered the paperback of Turn Coat by Jim Butcher today. I'm so excited. MORGAN. :D :D I keep re-reading the short story in Mean Streets as a quick way of appeasing my Dresden appetite, although it failed and then I ended up watching some of the show. I think I unconsciously made the link between my uni assignment and Paul Blackthorne, although I am not writing about that Bollywood film he did. I should finish that movie. It was fun. LOL and he had FAILtastic sideburns.

Mmmmmmmm Paul Blackthorne. Someone, I don't know, give him another job. The man made it his business to learn Hindi, for goodness' sake. 6 months he did that for, and then after an earthquake happened in the area of filming Lagaan, raised money to help out!! And he wasn't even popular then.

All this aside, I merely have to breathe the magical year "1969"....

GUESS WHAT!?!?!

Mr Cute Neighbour update
- he's going to freaking Scotland for 14 months. THIS IS BAD. But not bad in the way some might think. I mean, what if he comes back with a bit of a lilt? I'll NEVER get over him then!!!!!

Oh Mr Cute Neighbour. Knowing that your old Padawan braid is sitting on your mother's mantel next door is weird, but oddly reassuring in a creepy creepy way. You are slightly cute, but I bet I won't find you awesomely attractive until you're 40, by which point you will be married with 2.2 kids or whatever it is these days. And the Star Wars thing - that's vital. You were 25 when I decided I liked you very very much, the same age that Obi-Wan was when I realised I loved him. And you both had Padawan braids. *tear*

Why did I not have the courage to go next door for dessert that time? Why did I not ask if you wanted to hang out some time?

Time, time, time.

But... I bet he would have said no. Just like Mr Storage Closet. If it's one thing I've learnt in this cruel world, is that I'm not allowed to succeed in that matter.

... do you ever have that sudden terrifying realisation that you're treating your life like a TV show? Just then I thought "oh wait, I will use the Tarot cards to see how this turns out further in the season" with a similar thought of checking the future episode details of Heroes. WTF, man, WTF. I need help.

Of course, it's not too terrifying, as the Tarot cards have yet to make any coherent sense!

But yes. There is no TV!Harry Dresden to come charging to my rescue with a hockey stick. No romantic interestssss... until I am 30. At which point, if I have never been on a proper date, I will invent one Weird Science-style.

Hello interwebz ^_^

Hmm I felt like rambling this morning? :)

Hmm well it's time to plan friends' Christmas presents, I have bought part of one. YAAAY. I will admit to being stingy, as I only spend $10 on each friend... but really, birthdays are the extravaganzas. All else between is shared. But anyway, this means I get very creative as Christmas draws near. :D For me I get a lot of fun out of seeing how much I can cram into $10. So anyway, I picked up a bargain for $3 which means a whole $7 remaining! EEEE.

I may or may not have more fun with your Christmas present than you do. :D

NOW another thing. Christmas caaaards. I will send to my usual suspects but if there's anyone who would like to join the HyperCaz List of Awesome and swap postal addies, I'm very happy to do that. I bought some very nice cards too. ^_^ Therefore, umm... what's the best way to do this... screened comments! Ok, so all the comments are screened. Thar you go.

Also, on ebay, I bought all of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. I am also bidding on the first season of Always Greener, which is just a slightly less current version of Packed to the Rafters but also kind of a reboot of SeaChange.

ARGH. I got chewed out by the school principal at after school care today. Yes, I will admit that the sign at the entrance to the parking lot says 8ph. I will admit that I went above that. But as I'd had to stop at the entrance to wait for someone to exit, there is no way I could have achieved a great start-up speed up hill on a speed hump to annoy the principal as much as she decided she was.

So I nabbed the last parking spot, thereby forcing my brother to do the customer multiple-point-turn to get around and out again. As I'm grinning at him, the school principal marched up to me.

(this i'm just copying and pasting from an MSN convo because I'm lazy :P )

Principal: After school care people can't park here! You can't park here!

then - not a minute later into her rant which also covered my speed transgression -

Principal: If there's a spot, you can park here.

Caz was in a very bad mood because it's hot and full moon... so this was me...

Caz: *thinking* WTF?! *out loud, sincerely* I'm really sorry, I don't do it again.

Would that settle it? NOOOOOO.

Principal: But you really shouldn't do it, you have to go the speed limit and I've talked to everyone about this. I know you're new but -

(I didn't feel I should tell her I'd been working there for almost 3 years)

Caz: *mildly annoyed* Ok, I understand. I won't do it again.
Principal: I don't like your attitude. It - it really worries me how you're taking this. You've got to be really careful with kids -

I started shaking with a mix of anger and some heightened emotional responses. It was taking me back to childhood this bitchy school principal. And plus, I was already moon-ish so you know how that is.

Caz: It's just that you're talking to me like a kid, and I know what I did was wrong. I'm very sorry, and I get it.

I may have fluttered a shaking hand at my heart for dramatic effect, but thereafter she started trying to apologise. I simply walked off, feeling grumpy and upset. For frak's sake. She then hunted down my brother who had half-witnessed this scene and, unknowing of our connection, relayed an apology.

I'd shared the story with my female co-workers. Then Cazy came in with the message and hugged me, which was embarrassing but really nice of him. I'm sure on a normal day I wouldn't have been so stand offish with the woman, but also one of my defence mechanisms is to get really casual with my words and tone.

Really really glad Bitchface though I was new. LOL LOL.

I calmed down a bit afterwards with the kids, especially one who I had a 1.5 hour long conversation with about War Hammer, AOE, various Star Wars games and other things. Another kid kept eating his book. J2 also decided to tell me about his entire family and his dead cat.

But, fuck, really that woman. If she so much as... tosses a glance at me, I will grab her hair and pull it back hard while slamming her nose into the pavement.

Just saw the new special. Wow. The Doc is actually psychotic, very bananas, BAT SHIT INSANE?!?!!! WTF, MAN? He needs a good slap around the head or two. This why he needs a companion - doesn't matter what sort, just any - or he takes a running leap into the deep end. With his clothes on.

The funny thing is, I was reading a BTTF fanfic last night with a similar theme. So today it was a revelation! LOL.

Comments on IMDB that have struck my amusement today:

"WTF, Time Lord Victorious!"

"look at it this way...if we slowly hate the doctor..we won't miss him when he's gone :)"

"Cheesy. It's like he really wanted to outdo Moffatt with this. He didn't."

"So memorable you forgot the right words"

"He realises that no future incarnation will ever have hair as cool as his"

"Should the Doctor try to save Padme or is that the path 2 the dark side?"

"The Waters of the Moon"

"He still dating his 'daughter'?"

"Aren't those WOOD boards I see under his mattress? I mean, OUCH!!!!"

"Who thinks the new Dr Who will sparkle?"

"I already hate Matt Smith with every fibre of my being."

.... I sense many amusing times head thru January. :D Fandom will explode, implode and the tide will recede, leaving us with Emo Man and his bad hair. Perhaps in time we will come to love him, but I really can't get past the hair. LOL.

I hereby dub this Awesome Episode Week! :)

  • Nov. 15th, 2009 at 7:23 PM

I really must know what's up this week. Several shows have come through with vast improvements this week and some are even continuing on a great streak. It's suddenly decided to be Awesome Episode Week??? Who cares! Let it continue!

After Supernatural, there comes a quadriple whammy! :D

SGU - I'm not supposed to like this show. I speak ill of it to everyone. And it's dodgy and boring to the extreme. Except, not this week. Strangely, it was interesting and had a kicker of an ending. Rumour is there is no second-part, it's a stand alone - which makes it even more whoooooa. So the idea is not a new one but it was done [REC]-style which could have really been FAIL. I was a bit annoyed by the Kino-cam at first but it grew on me. Made it seem creepy. ;) And who else cheered when Chloe... ahaha... TWICE! MWHAHAHA...

Smallville - one day I got into a time machine and travelled back to the 90s. I switched on the tele and settled down to a superhero TV show. There was this guy with glasses, awesome hair and he happened to be kissing his work partner. ;) Cue 2009 and we seem to have ended up wandering from Smallville-land in Lois & Clark-land.

Firstly, let's just say - I screamed very loudly when the fabled glasses appeared. And then my scream increased in pitch and volume when said glasses found a perch on Clark's nose. Yeah yeah I know we've seen the guy with glasses in two other episodes over the 8+ season run, but this was totally epic.

Secondly, the shaggier Clark's hair gets the hotter I think he is. Rawr.

Thirdly, the almost-reveal. It's something that happened in frequency on Lois & Clark and, if done well, can avoid jarring the viewer.

Fourthly, hahah omfg Lois has "I Need A Hero" play on her phone when the Blur rings.

And lastly... KISSSSSSSSSSS. The box, the heels, the leg-pop - let's forget the seizure for a moment - KISSSSSSSS! KISS! HAHAHA KISSSSS! KISSSSSSSS!

Clark/Lois is love. <3

Ahem. Whoa I spend a while on that show.

Ben 10: Alien Force - don't start running for the exits! I have something to say! Season 3 of this show has been atrocious. This week they brought back the threat of the High Breeds, which was probably the best thing to do. Grandpa Max featured in a way that reminded me of the good old days... ahem, the Endless Summer of 2005. And we didn't see anything of Ben's annoying girlfriend. High fives and Mr Smoothly smoothies all round!

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008 - re-writing 3 or 4 different canons in 3D animation style!) - well last week was actually pretty good and funny with the testerone matches, but this week had Luminara and her Padawan, so that was already a promising start. ;) They're a good balance to the Dream Team lol... and splitting up the Dream Team lessens any headaches I get from the show. It also seemed to have more of a point - and "point" is something gravely missing in a show that you know is showing you nothing but a war that kind of didn't happen.

... in more Smallville thoughts - dude. Michael Shanks. YEAAAAAAAAAh. :D Can't wait!

the soul can take 3 stow-aways

  • Nov. 12th, 2009 at 11:50 PM
Handed in two assignments today, which left me which a strange sense of... anticlimax. [info]ellymellyrode shotgun because when she rang me I was on my way out to uni lol... afterwards we hung out at T2, JB, Borders and the Tea Centre. The latter of which took money from me when I bought myself some strange tea balls. I love tea that opens up, so this should be fun. :D

I also bought Las Vegas season 1 for my brother for Christmas, which thankfully puts what I've spent on him up to what he's spent on me. Annoying brothers...!

Watched a lot of Smallville season 7 to celebrate my temporary freedom. Dean Cain, yaaaaay. :D :D Dean Cain vs Tom Welling - whew. Extra big grin there. Mum even made me show her the Dean Cain bits later. Next episode in my viewing will be the one where Pete returns! Haha product placement + character from the early days = amusement

I actually noticed some of the product placement in the episode I just watched! ARGH!

Also, Halling as an evil Kryptonian. WHOOOOOA. Brain asplode. Oh and the medic from SGU. It's one thing to know that she's Canary, then to see her after watching the most boring Stargate show. It was slightly weird. I was thinking "pointless medic character, also known as 'home wrecker'" and "LOL Canary amusing face make-up".

Moonlighting arrived in the post. Discussions have opened with Mum about which seasons I can get as Christmas presents from relatives, and which ones I pay for myself. I usually would not have bought so damn much in a month but a lot of sales were happening - and now the prices have all shot up again. Lucky save! And that show amuses me a lot. Especially looking forward to the Remington Steele moment.

(there's one for those who enjoy playing 6 degrees of acting separation. Pierce Brosnan and Bruce Willis?! :D )

((I happen to enjoy the 6 degrees game, and imdb has made it easier))

(((PS: I can link myself to Tobias Moretti by 3 degrees!! Woohoo! Thank you BOBW, and thank you random UK production.)))

... not crazy, I swear!

And oh God, I don't like having to specifially walk up to a scary manager at Coles and telling them why I can't do stocktake. You would think that after three years they would get that I have never been able to work Tuesday afternoons...?? Ah frak it. I'll ring up 2 hours before my shift and tell them over the phone. I can't stand confrontations. *grumpy*

Cancellations.....

  • Nov. 11th, 2009 at 7:21 PM
It's probably not much of a surprise if you've been watching the ratings, but now it's official - Dollhouse is cancelled.   FOX is still expected to air the rest of this season's 13 episodes, but that's it.  The following is copied from the above link.

Here is the current schedule for Dollhouse episodes (tentative as always):

12/4  2 episodes from 8p-10p
12/11 2 episodes from 8p-10p
12/18  2 episodes from 8p-10p
1/8 1 ep @9pm
1/15 1 ep @9pm
1/22 1 ep @9pm (series finale)

***************************************

Also cancelled this week are ABC's Eastwick and Hank.   Eastwick, like Dollhouse, will air the remainder of its 13 episodes.  However, as far as I can tell, Hank is gone after tonight's episode.

This makes Eureka cast members 0 for 3 in show cancellations this season.  The CW's A Beautiful Life, in which Ed Quinn (Nathan Stark) was to have a recurring role, was the first cancellation of the season.   Jordan Hinson (Zoe Carter) was in Hank, and of course Jamie Ray Newman (Tess Fontana) was in Eastwick.

Ahhhhh today Smallville season 7 arrived in the mail and I was happy. I watched two episodes and was momentarily stunned to see Lex, then remembered the hazy pre-Lois & Clark 2.0 days. I wanted to scream all manner of painful things when Lana was revealed as not-dead.

Then I realised that also this week I am getting the rest of Moonlighting on DVD. FUNFUNFUN. :D :D Silliness and postmodernism in a really bizarre format. The thing that confuses me is not the craziness, but the moments when they are serious. It's WTF I don't understand why they are talking normal. TALK CRAZY TO ME.

Today my brother watched a new movie of his ... The Nude Bomb. Firstly, I was shocked to see Dana Elcar and, secondly, I was shocked at how much I remembered. I could describe accurately the "second largest zipper in the world" moment and I wasn't even in the room for that. And omg the epic clone scene right near the end. I remembered it CLEARLY.

It's been more than a decade when I last saw it and I was a kid easily distracted by things... :)

Still. Dana Elcar. Sadface.

Work was okay until I discovered - at the same time the kids did - that I am very ticklish on my ankles. No other part of me but the freaking ankles. Then kids kept trying to tie my shoelaces up with epic FAIL. After which I was nearly jumped on by M, who is small, but somewhat terrifying if you are looking up at her.

And my phone kept ringing. Kids love it when a carer's phone rings, especially if said carer is outside. It's the usual "oooo who brought a phone DUN DUN DUN. Turns out it was [info]ellymelly lol...

I'm finishing assignments left, right and centre. Ok, so two I'm handing in tomorrow. It will be early as I can't make it to uni on Friday owing to work and... a lack of bother. Following this I will devote many days to my 3000 word essay.

AFTER WHICH... I will spend my time working or flogging the DVD player something silly.

Oh yeah I am having a Trek night somewhere in there. Hmm.

I don't want a boyfriend at the moment. How odd. I was sitting here thinking about it and I realised I'm just not in the mood for a boyfriend. LOL.

It's that time again...!!!

  • Nov. 10th, 2009 at 3:52 PM

14 months since the last edition of Late Nights with Elly and Caz - there is another!! Obviously it happened last night. On Skype with a lot of oddness. One broken screen and a lot of fail.

I present to you -

Night 11 - FAIL Nights

References to everything inc. SG1, SGA, SGU, Farscape, BSG, BTTF, The Frighteners, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Quantum Leap, Justin Timberlake and a retro ad campaign. Yeah. So that happened. :D

As for my actual life, not much happening. Bought The Tudors season 2 and so have been watching that with Mum. I've been procrastinating a lot. Online poker too. I scored a nice pot or two. I blogged. I even had a "Late Night".

I also continued my epic quest - of typing up the bajillion notebooks under my bed. All those stories - the crazy, the fannish, the downright bizarrely original and hybrids. A collection that has been growing since I was 6-years-old. Yes, even that infamous book is under there. In bad age6!Caz handwriting. :) I thought that if I typed them up... and more importantly FIXED them up... I'd be able  to print them off and bind them in books. To make sure they don't disappear forever.

(the pencil-written books were particularly in danger)

Caz signing out to... do stuff. Maybe. I like cheese. OH NO I went out to Coles and didn't buy stringers. :( How did I forget those? I didn't forget the nuggets or the ... i can't remember what I bought. LOL. I even  forgot to take my discount card.

Cazy made me watch part of Norbit. To my shame, I found parts of it funny.
